Her father used to be the publisher at The Olympian, a Washington-based newspaper. Her father was the former director of The Olympian newspaper in Washington. From a young age she was a dancer and actress who is trained to be a performer across a variety of art forms. She dropped out of college and moved to LA to forge a career in acting making her debut acting appearance in the in the short movie Lucy's Piano. In the following film, she played Alice McKee, in Blood: The Last Vampire fantasy action movie blood: 17 Again (2009) she starred in the 2009 film 17 Again. She had her major television breakthrough when she played the role of the main character in the show titled Kings in 2009. Her roles have been significant on other television shows like Terra Nova Go On or Selfie. Recently, she was the lead part in a drama-based family show called A Million Little Things.
