Lars Mikkelsen

Lars MikkelsenAt the age of 27, he enrolled at the National Theatre School of Denmark at which point he graduated in 1995. Apart from his role as The Killing's lead actor as well as his appearance in two other internationally popular Danish dramas: Those Who Kill, and Borgen III. He also appeared in episodes of BBC drama Sherlock as Charles Augustus Magnussen (blackmailer). He played Russia's president on the American TV show House of Cards. He was awarded an International Emmy Award in 2018 for his part in Danish television drama Herrens Veje, which was shown in the UK in 2019 as Ride Upon the Storm. Mikkelsen is fluent in English, Swedish and German. He can also speak multiple accents. He has claimed that he and his brother initially picked up English through listening to Monty Python records and learning the comedy sketches
